The IBS (irritable bowel syndrome) meal plan was developed for anyone suffering from the effects of IBS. Key components are the addition of low FODMAP (Fermentable Oligo-Di-Monosaccharides and Polyols) foods. Known irritants such as onions, cruciferous vegetables, grapes, apples, pears and artificial sweeteners are eliminated. Since the IBS diet can be restrictive, we have included easily digestible and nutrient dense food that can promote adequate digestion and better absorption of nutrients. IBS triggers can be individuals, therefore it is recommended to keep a food diary by logging meals to keep track of those foods that are not well tolerated.
